i'm afraid i could get used to this.

sometimes, it is when i am happiest that i realize the extent to which certain past relationships have damaged me, and that even though i have made progress by leaps & bounds into not being that damaged soul any longer, i am not entirely "there" yet.

you see... i've been happy lately. like... really really happy. like... perfect blue sky in the Spring with not even one puffy cloud to block the sun for even a moment. happy. content.

happy.

but there is this little voice that pipes up every so often that wonders aloud to itself -- sort of like that person you work with that wants to talk about something that's on their mind but nobody is taking the bait, so they "talk to themselves" just loud enough that you can't help but hear them, and you feel obligated to speak up but you really just want to pretend you experienced a moment of temporary deafness. and this annoying little voice wonders if it's all just going to stop abruptly. the happiness, i mean.

the progress i've made is evident though. the voice only wonders *if* it will stop. not *when* it will stop.

i hope it doesn't. because i have to tell you, i'm really loving the happy.

You've got to put the 'Don't worry be happy' song on your playlist ;)

Dawn, tell that little voice to go pound sand where the sun don't shine.

That's what I tell mine and they usually go away. ;)

You deserve the happiness; don't let the voice or anybody else try and tell you otherwise.

So glad you're getting some serious happy. Enjoy it! Thanks for your comments. Try not to vent but yesterday was one of those days I couldn't help it. And it did help as did the comments. {{HUGS}}

Lol. I'm with Ted. Tell the voice to go screw and bother someone else for a change. ;-)

Marianne: It's wonderful to *be* getting "there". =)

Heather: =) Thanks, girlie.

Carol: LOL! And Hakuna Matata?

Ted: It's getting much easier to do that. Maybe we can send all our voices to go play together somewhere else. Like the Yankee clubhouse. ;-)

Jeanne: Sometimes we need to vent. I think venting out the bad lends itself to achieving the happy.

Nichole: I'll let it know you said so. After all, it should not mess with us, right? ;-)

Smitty: Happy - it's infectious. LOL!

Chele: I think you might be suffering from a side effect of happy: euphoria. LOL

Mega: You know where to find me.
