it's all fun & games til someone breaks the Beckett
the Sox have lost six straight Spring Training games & then we see images like this
and thoughts like "so with Schill's shoulder & now Beckett's back, on top of Mini Matsuzaka's pending arrival potentially keeping him back here in the states when the Sox head to Japan, our opening day starting rotation could look like Wake, Lestah, Stick Bug, Julian and The Man Who Ate the Infield." suddenly all those Bartolo Colon jokes just got a lot less funny...
in other news, the Cubs are showing interest in Coco (who hasn't played a game since March 2, with a sore groin) but the Sox don't like the players offered. and ten players were cut on Saturday, sent to the minors, bringing the roster to 46. among them was *not* Jed Lowrie. apparently Julio Lugo has been MIA for the last eight games. heh. perfect time for Lowrie to show us what he's got, don't ya think? >=] ::tucks voodoo doll out of sight::
still doens't make me feel better about Beckett though... maybe a little comic relief will help...
this was not really the most flattering angle to take a photo of our potential ::gulp:: fifth starter...
and this one? cracks me up every.time.
then there was the Manny Papelbon appearance. forgot his jersey back at City of Palms Park on this particular day, so he had to borrow Manny's. i think we maybe ought to just be grateful he remembered to bring *pants*. because we know he has no qualms about taking the mound in his underwear.
and this one... well... ::shakes head::
there are the ping pong wars. and you know Mike Lowell is the king. he might not win in their Fantasy Football league, but he'll paddle your backside at ping pong!
all that ping pong is hard work you know. ;-)
these just kill me though. i want in on the joke!

::sigh::
nope, still stressed about the Commander's back.
7 with their own thoughts:
As my main source for Red Sox pre-season news, might I just add a frustrated... faaaaaaaaahhhk!
Dawn,
I've got 3 kids, a wife, and a job.
Yet I spent most of the day worrying about Beckett.
::sigh::
Pocklock: My sentiments exactly.
Ted: I know what you mean. Well, not about the wife & kids LOL but about the worrying.
I refuse to be worried about this until April 1.
Cute pictures! got to watch the game against the Dodgers Sunday. Good game, oh yeah not for you though they lost. Sorry.
Redbeard: Except that our season starts on March 25...
Jeanne: They can lose all they want now. Starting March 25, losing is no longer an option. ;-)
Is that... a CHiPs helmet that Big Papi is wearing?? :)
