one random thought on the last day of Spring Training

the Sox played their last two exhibition games in Philadelphia against the Phillies. after listening to the local Philly radio announcers, i have to say, they run a definite second in announcing a game to our very own Remy & Don. and if you know me, you know that's saying a *lot*. they were amusing & entertaining, having a good laugh throughout a large portion of both games. they were very well-matched and played well off each other. but most importantly, they did all of that while always announcing what was actually going on during the game, and though they obviously are rooting for their home team, they still made the game enjoyable for Red Sox fans to listen to as well. seems to me that many announcers are either too busy rambling about nothing that matters, almost to the exclusion of the game; are so dry in announcing the game, whether from being poorly matched as a team or just sounding like they are reading off cue cards & not enjoying a second of it; or they are so heavily biased toward their local boys, that trying to listen as an "away fan" becomes unbearable.

my point? never underestimate the value of a good sports announcing team.

I wondered how they would have handled a sombrero.
