a little too personal
you know what i find particularly aggravating?
i field telemarketing phone calls all day at work. it's not already bad enough that they need to waste my time with their 246 (meaningless & aggravating) interruptions. now when they call, they want to know my name! and they aren't satisfied with just my first name. they want my last name too! and as if this isn't already far too much of my personal information, i was just asked for my month of birth.
i draw the line there. i asked why she needed that. she said "to verify that she spoke to an actual human being." oh. i see. like the phone calls i am forced to answer that have a computerized voice on the other end, urging me to please hold the line for an urgent message? (as if!)
needless to say, i refused to give her my month of birth. she stammered & hung up. i guess *that* wasn't in her script. =P
i think i will start giving out fake names when asked now. just to watch in amusement when the junk mail starts pouring in addressed to random people who don't exist.
1 with their own thoughts:
Yanno what, we should have a contest to give you the coolest name for when a telemarketer calls :) Here are a couple to get you started:
1) Jennberley Johnsmith (Jenn and Kimberly Johnson/Smith)
2) Tawney Kitaen (why not! she was famous once - now she can be infamous with the telemarketing industry!)
3) Shaneequa Jones (something really just off the wall!)
There ya have it -- and when they ask for your birthday, just tell them "Its the same month every year!"
:)
