when tv becomes reality
i've always enjoyed the show CSI & its various spin offs. i don't need to watch the show religiously, but if it's on & i stumble across it, i will usually stop to watch.
this morning, as i was getting ready to leave for work, i pulled out onto the main driveway of the apartment complex where i live. the sight that greeted me was yellow crime scene tape all around the main building where the rental office is & up around to the apartment building behind it. the apartment building i lived in when i first moved here. there were sheriff's department cars & officers everywhere. three CSI vans were parked out front. and there were a bunch of people swarming around, looking at the ground, just outside the apartment that was back to back with the one i used to live in.
for all the times i've watched CSI on tv, it's completely unnerving to find it happening a ninety second walk from your apartment. not to be dramatic about it or anything. i know it was most likely some sort of escalated domestic dispute, considering the only police report right now says that they were called at 4am for a disturbance at the apartments, and when they showed up, they found the body of a white male. but still... when you're one smallish girl, who lives alone... let's just say i like my CSI to stay in the tv & not become reality in my front yard.
10 with their own thoughts:
Did you see an old lady with a typewriter who fancied herself "Angela Lansbury"??
Oh that would completely unnerve me too.
ooh! Keep us updated with what you find!
Maybe you will get questiond on if you heard anything????
...yea, I have issues! lol
Don't joke about that, Dan. Last thing Dawn needs is to have a Jessica Fletcher live in her town. My god, that woman was a magnet for murder. She certainly wrote what she knew, didn't she? If I were Tom Bosely, I'd have arrested her as an accessory after the 20th murder in such a "sleepy" little town.
Dan: no, but I did see an older gentleman nearby, smoking a pipe... like for real.
Gail: and they claim that this is a quiet peaceful place to live. you know, except for, you know, the dead bodies lying around. but they don't make much noise after the initial disturbance. =P
Chele: they have released his name & age now. and which apartment he lived in. and now i am even more freaked out because it was the one that was directly back-to-back (as in sharing a wall!) with the apartment i was in when i first moved there. i have since switched to a different apartment on almost the opposite side of the complex. THANK. GOD. and i didn't hear a thing, but my apartment not only faces away from the direction of where this all took place, but i can't even hear more than a garbage disposal running from my adjacent neighbors, never mind any noise from the other end of the complex. and thankfully there are bushes that blocked the actual crime scene from sight when i drove by. i am not certain but i think the body was still there at that time.
Bart: listen, if this starts being a regular occurence, i can tell you who will be relocating her place of residence. and it won't take no 20 deaths.
Eeks - that IS frightening.
i would link the article that's online, but it lists the exact location of where i live & i am not comfortable with that kind of personal information being connected directly to me. they are updating it about once an hour so far.
Are there speculations on what may have happened?
no details yet, although it was officially ruled a homicide around 1pm...
they have released that he was stabbed to death. that's all they are saying at this time. ::sigh:: any bets on how well i sleep tonight?
