delayed

my post from Friday's game, that is. the game itself happened when it was scheduled. they are, after all, playing in that God forsaken Metrodome. anyway...

1. it's bad enough that we're stuck playing in this stupid dome, but being subjected to the Twins announcers is just cruel & unusual punishment. i have to listen to *three* days of these two buffoons?! i miss NESN. i miss Remy & Don talking fashion. i really wish MLBtv worked like listening to the radio broadcast that you can stream through MLB.com, because that you can choose whether you want the home broadcast or the away one. MLBtv, you're stuck with what they give you, which is usually the home network. ::sigh::

2. OMG. everything is a bad call to these guys. unless it goes in the Twins favor. they're as bad as the guys in Tampa... you're not even serious. they *just* whined about playing their series in Tampa where it seems all the calls went in the Rays' favor & they "just don't like to see that happen, when the home team gets favored with all the calls." i am at a loss for words.

3. and now they just spoke condescendingly about the Trop being a dome when their own home field is such a menace?! i guess these guys *really* only like it when things like calls & dome rules benefit just the Twins.

4. and the ball gets hit to the warning track. and the ball gets hit to the warning track. and the freaking ball gets hit to the freaking warning track. can't we just hit the stupid thing out of here already?!

5. hey! another triple for Little Alex! that makes three for him in just 33 at bats! there are only six players in all of MLB who have more than he does (Jose Reyes has five, and Tony Pena Jr, Dave Roberts, Jimmy Rollins, Alfredo Amezaga & Craig Biggio all have four) and all of those players have had 78 or more at bats! Little Alex is on fire! Cora for SS!!

6. it seems that on Sunday, the Twins are going to have some sort of piggy bank promotion. these two pea-brained announcers are fascinated because the piggy bank is *actually* shaped like a pig. what a novel idea! ::rolls eyes so hard they are in danger of getting stuck::

7. once again, we're seeing a gem of a game from Wakey -- a shutout after five innings -- and of course no bats. no Sox runs at all. Wake is doing his job to the letter, but he can't win if the Boston offense never scores...

8. ...and literally as i am writing that last note, Papi sends one into the seats! 1-0 Sox!

9. this Minnesota reliever, Neshek, has one bizarre delivery.

10. ::rubs eyes:: do they not have a bullpen at the Metrodome either?! i thought that sort of idiocy was only at the Trop, where the relief squad gets a bench along the edge of the field. i swear i just saw someone in catchers' gear standing by a couple of bases, just past first base...

11. a lead off triple for Drew in the ninth! the Sox have been all about the triple so far this season. only the Royals have more in the AL (9) with Drew's being number 7 for the Boston. speaking of number seven for the Sox... i *still* hate seeing him with that number on his back. and yes, i will probably continue to say this all season.

12. Drew came home after that triple & the Sox earned Wake a win, even with pathetic run support once again.

13. Papelbon was back in to close it out. his first appearance since that mess on Wednesday. he didn't seem like his normal bad ass self, getting his opponent to K on a monster swing getting nothing but air, but the heat was a little closer to where it should be, and he racked up his tenth save. i hope this gets straighted out quickly...

14. Julian & Santata on Sunday -- and that game has already happened. i'll get to my comments on that one in a little bit, ok?

3 with their own thoughts:

I have a suggestion that you can take or leave depending on what your feelings are. I know it would benefit me who does love the Red Sox for many reasons (born with parental pressure and as an adult more Red Sox fans than the other team around and of couse just a certain few of my favorite players)however do not pay attention to them unless I stumble upon them (I know this is bad but it is the way I happen to be)anyway I digress. My suggestion/request since I get 99 percent of my Red Sox updates here or by phone from you is that each game you right about give the score. Just a thought.

The Metrodome doesn't have a real bullpen, no. Just two mounds up the lines from their respective dugouts. Moronic design.
