Thirteen Favorite Photos From Last Weekend

1) taken during Wishes. i like the angle of of the photo (we were sitting on a curb, looking up toward Cinderella Castle, in my very wonderful best place to view the fireworks), and if you click on the photo to enlarge it, you can see that the dark spot partially blocking the castle is actually the silhouette of a child on his father's shoulders as they watched.


2) easily fascinated by water droplets in a flower.


3) i never get an opportunity to get this photo & the last time i did, my poor old broken camera didn't get the shot. this was taken from the Stand By Line for Kali River Rapids. the Fast Pass Line bypasses this area of the queue.


4) another shot from the Kali River Rapids queue. passed the time playing with my camera. Disney details never fail to amaze me. even while you wait, there is so much to see.


5) taken while waiting for Nichole & Daniel to ride Expedition Everest.


6) there is absolutely nothing better than seeing people you love, relaxed, happy & enjoying their vacation. and you would not believe how many people commented on Nichole's hat! it is so cool!


7) this goes hand in hand with the last photo. Nichole & i were waiting for Daniel while he rode Kali River Rapids. i would have gone on with him, but this was only my first of three full days in the parks with them & i really needed my sneakers to be dry for the rest of the weekend, so i had to pass it up. Daniel loves the water rides. the wetter the better! he only got a little wet his first time through. the second time he got pretty soaked.


8) here is my favorite animal to watch at Animal Kingdom: the white cheeked gibbons. the baby is old enough to start exploring a little bit on her own. we got to watch her learn the ropes (literally!) for quite a while, with mama close by.


9) never mind the flags growing out of their heads. this photo makes me smile. time spent with two of my favorite people. sometimes the photo doesn't have to be composed perfectly to be a perfect photo.


10) 2007 edition of crazy hats around World Showcase! there is actually one of Nichole & me wearing moose antler hats but it's living on her camera still. i imagine that one is hilarious.


11) Illuminations: Reflections of Earth. to give you an idea of how enormous those fireworks are, that globe at the bottom, behind the fountains, is pretty huge.


12) this candy lady -- Miyuki -- is so cool. i had never seen her before. which is crazy when you consider how many times i have been in Epcot. she is in the Japan pavilion. if you ever get a chance to see her, stop & watch the incredible things she does with candy. she makes the animals by request (almost always from children), and can make so many different animals. it's mesmerizing. this one is the unicorn...


13) ...and this is the porcupine. "so dangerous candy -- ouch!" ;-)
