you've been meme'd: May 6, 2006

from Stopping Traffic
found thanks to
Stacy at Exceedingly Mundane

1. Do your parents still have any of your childhood art on display in their home? i would be shocked if they did. maybe at Christmastime on the tree...
2. Do you have a carbon monoxide detector in your home? no but i want one
3. How good of a speller are you? very good. and it shows when i pay attention & proofread myself. ;-) at work they call me Webster (as in the dictionary) when they need some help spelling something.
4. Nails… bare or polished? hands: occasionally polished but i hate to do it myself so i haven't much since i stopped getting an acrylic topcoat. toes: almost all the time polished, right now a deep ruby red but they need to be redone in a yet-to-be-determined color.
5. What is the most expensive thing you have bought in the last year? ummmm a new house?? LOL
6. Do you know how to set the clock in your car? yep & it's so easy i can do it while i drive without looking--at the clock i mean. i look where i'm driving. LOL
7. What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you lately? the fact that i can't immediately think of anything means that i am due. *sigh*
8. Ever talk to yourself? ummmm...lol...
9. Do you recount the money you receive back at the store? Bank? i glance but unless something looks amiss, not a real "hard count"
10. Don’t you hate it when _________________. you are having a not-so-great week & you know you just vented it out on someone who was completely undeserving.

1. Should I quit blogging? Sigh. (i'm sticking with Stacy's response on this one) No… maybe take a break, but don’t quit
2. Toilet paper… over or under? over. period.
3. What brand names are you completely loyal to? so many...Sparkle paper towels. Playtex tampons. Puffs tissues (without lotion though). Cascade dishwasher detergent. Quilted Northern toilet paper. Daisy sour cream. and the list goes on & on & on &....
4. Do you like your job? What is your dream job? i *love* my job. this IS my dream job. being an integral part of a small company where it's laid back & like family. a job i never dread going to & where i am happy & have very few bad days.
5. On a scale from 1-10, how computer savvy are you? i would say 8 on my own, 9.5 if someone with professional experience is walking me through something. i just can't peform something like replacing a fan or anything like that.
6. Do you make your lunch or buy it? usually make it or at least bring something. there isn't much close to where i work as far as takeout is concerned.
7. What color is your front door? deep rich red French doors with decorative glass inserts. i LOVE my front doors.
8. Jeans or kakhis? specifically Levis
9. What is the longest distance you have ever run? run?! i have no clue
10. If you could buy one thing for yourself (cost is no matter), what would you buy? a good dependable laptop with a wireless internet connection

Are you more...

01) Lawyer or accountant? lawyer i think. i pay attention to detail. oh yeah & i am terrible with numbers. the fact that i was an accountant for two car dealerships simultaneously for 18 months & they are both still in business & turning a profit astounds me.
02) Dentist or family doctor? i am truly not cut out for the medical field. just be glad i am neither.
03) Chiropractor or massage therapist? massage therapist--the legit kind ;-)
04) Engineer or architect? architect. way too many numbers involved with being an engineer lol!
05) Sports announcer or news meteorologist? ohhhhh...if you don't know how much i LOVE sports, you clearly do not pay enough attention here but weather fascinates (and sometimes scares) me, plus i have said for years that i wished i was a meteorologist so i could go to work, be wrong 85% of the time & still have a job =P
06) Garbage collector or sewage system inspector? gross! but i think garbage collector. at least it's bagged...
07) Plumber or electrician? neither if you want your house to stay unflooded and not burned to the ground!
08) Lead hand/foreman or supervisor/manager? supervisor/manager (QUEEN!!)
09) Astronomer or astrologist? astromoner
10) Advice column writer or editorial column writer? editorial writer. giving advice scares me--people start holding you accountable.

::Wuthering Heights (and lows)::

Onesome: Wuthering-- What kind of word is that anyway? Do you have a word you think is just strange? "Kangaroo" comes to mind ... talked about this not too long ago actually

Twosome: Heights-- Are you afraid of them or can you dance along the rooftop coping like a character in a movie? if i have a railing or i am at least partially enclosed, they don't bother me at all. i actually like the feeling of being up high & looking over everything below me. i just don't like feeling unprotected from an inadvertant freefall.

Threesome: (and lows)-- What kind of insect or bug sends you low and scurrying? Do spiders do that to you? Wasps? ...or do you just squish everything that "bugs" you? ewwwww. i do NOT like bugs. ants. spiders. bees. wasps. mosquitoes. gnats. *lowers voice to whisper* roaches. ants get chased with Raid & wiped away. spiders result in a Dawn-shaped hole in the wall. bees & wasps scare me--been bit a few times & don't care to relive thankyouverymuch. mosquitoes & gnats get swatted or squished. those last nasty yucks meet their fate with an exterminator if they think they are coming in HERE.

Feast Ninety-Two

Appetizer
From which country(s) are some (or all) of your ancestors?
the ones i know of for sure are Germany & Canada. quite possibly a Poland in there too.

Soup
How would you describe your sneeze?
in twos or threes. and not a teeny little "girlie" sneeze. just your standard run-of-the-mill "a-choo!"

Salad
What is the last thing you cleaned?
the kitchen

Main Course
Who made the strongest first impression on you?
ummmm...Alison maybe? i remember meeting her & right away thinking i really wanted to be her friend.

Dessert
Name one thing you want to accomplish in your lifetime.
being completely debt-free (minus the mortgage lol)--and quite happy to say i am well on my way to this!

¡Viva Mexico!

1. Have you ever been to Mexico? no. i was supposed to go as part of the cruise for Darna & Tony's wedding but...life happened.

2. Do you know anyone who is currently in the military? yep

3. What is the last party you attended? an anniversary party a couple of weekends ago

4. What do you think about President Bush saying that the United States' National Anthem should only be sung in English? i say AMEN. can you imagine the uproar if we started asking people to translate THEIR national anthems so we could understand?? this is the USA. the song was written in English. if you want to live here & sing my song, learn the words the way they were written or just stand there quietly & respectfully until it's over.

5. French fries or freedom fries? oh for crying out loud. they are French fries. if you don't like that, just call 'em fries. like we don't have bigger issues in the world.

What's In a Name?

1) Do you like your birth-name? Why? i'm kind of used to it now. i didn't like it very much when i was a kid. now i think it kind of fits. i'm an early riser, a morning person & sunshine-y.
2) If you could change your name to anything else, what would it be? well like i said, kind of used to the one i've had for almost 3 decades now but i guess it would be Meghan which is what my dad wanted to name me.
3) What names would you consider giving your children? favorite girl names: Emma, Meghan, Lauren, Claire, Madison. favorite boy names: Jack. Ryan. Ethan. Carson. Aaron.
4) If you had a band, what would you name it, and why? Daybreak. and i have no idea why. just the first thing that came to mind.
5) Is there a name that you completely hate? Why? man...i really don't want to offend anyone by answering THIS question. let's just say there are some i no longer like thanks to working in daycare. ;-)
