injustice

how is it that we finally suck it up & buy the rights to watch MLB Extra Innings on digital cable because we can't take it that the Red Sox are playing the Yankees & somehow this game is not nationally televised...

...and tonight's game gets rained out. hmph.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

and on a semi-related sidenote: i was watching Around the Horn on ESPN after work & realized something. people who aren't Red Sox or Yankees fans just DO NOT grasp the potency of this rivalry. they don't. otherwise they would not make stupid remarks like the Red Sox fans should be glad for HIM that he's moved on to other things & we should just wish him well. WE DO. just not in THAT uniform. we haven't forgotten what he did for us back when he was Johnny. but he's not that guy as long as he steps up to bat for The Nememis. period. and for someone else to say that there is no way that Sox fans should be so happy to get back a catcher who will only play once every 5 games & who doesn't have that high a batting average. ummmm...hello? did you not see the difference in last night's game? that was worth whatever it cost to reacquire "tat catcher" & to charter a private plane & then some. and yes it was THAT important that Doug catch for THAT game. what really disturbs me is that these things were being said by what were supposed to be well-versed sports people. how on earth does one of the biggest & most well-known classic sports rivalries of all time not make sense to these guys?? how does that happen?!

Isn't that the way it goes? I've decided I'm probably going to pay for a month of service from mlb.tv so I can watch the Reds when they're not on TV. It's only about $15 for a month... and they got this cool thing where you can watch up to 6 games at the same time in one window.

Good luck with your Extra Innings. I almost got that, too. Let me know how it turns out for you.

Now that you've got it, you'll have it all season long.

Long live the Mirabelli-Wakefield show!!!

Yes, there are tons of people who don't get it. But when you find someone who *does*... man, it's like instant bonding. All of the sudden you realize that person knows everything... from No, No Nanette, to Pesky's Pole, to Bucky f*&(ing Dent.

hooray! got my comments to show and found you - phew.

I think even without the Yankee thing Damon was doing plenty to sully his good name up here...full page ads thanking the fans in the paper (after he went all benedict arnold), claiming the locker room wasn't any fun at all until he came along, blaming the sox for him buying a house he couldn't afford and then not being offered a deal...he's kind of an asshat, even without being a yankee. I mean, thanks for the memories and all, but don't let the door hitya...

looks like no rain delay...got to go :)

I'm with Jenny. Total asshat. Shoot, I'll take the freaking house! Plus, I'll be the locker room was plenty of fun with Millar and Mirabelli.

Ass-hat! I love it!
