Grace in Small Things 201:265

1. the sight of Youk tossing his batting helmet, charging the mound & tackling the pitcher after being hit by a pitch.

2. a graphic under Mike Lowell's name stating "pinch runner" (when he came in to take Youk's base afte rhe was ejected for aforementioned charging &tackling). my Baseball Boyfriend is many things, but a runner he is not.

3. a fuming Tito hucking his 18-piece wad of pink bubblegum onto the field so that he can *really* tell the umpires what he thinks, after being ejected from the game.

4. two home runs by Mike Lowell. off the bench.

5. everyone--Sox players *and* fans--needed a game like last night's. something to fire us up, re-energize us, make us laugh til our eyes stream, after last week's nightmare. i hope it effectively gives the Sox the push they need to get the ball rolling in the right direction again.
