10 Least Liked Foods
i am truly not a picky eater but there are some foods i just do not care for. and may i say that i have at least tried everything on this list, except for 9 which i wholly admit i am basing purely on the the fact that i just cannot bring myself to even taste it.
1. any sort of hot cereal--oatmeal, cream of wheat or rice or any other grain, grits. bleh. my Gram used to even try to bribe me by putting raisins in it but i would just fish them out & leave the cereal.
2. bananas--just... ::shudder::
3. spam--even just the smell of it is enough to turn my stomach!
4. red cabbage--which my Gram used to make with spam. one of the few things she made that i would outright refuse to eat.
5. winter squash--butternut, acorn, hubbard. doesn't matter. if it's in a mushy orange pile, i'll pass. i love yellow Summer squash and zucchini squash though!
6. mushrooms--actually i will tolerate them if they are cut up teeny tiny & mixed in so well that i cannot see them. but if i find them, i'm picking them out!
7. bologna--gives me an instant headache. just one single bite.
8. liver--or heart, tongue, brains. oh, let's just say "internal organs" ok?
9. veal or lamb--i just can't bring myself to eat baby animals.
10. Cheerios--five years working in daycare with infants and picking up either the dusty remains or a soggy slimy drool-soaked O that looked innocent enough until you touched it... yeah, Cheerios just have never been the same since.
12 with their own thoughts:
Yum, meh, yuck, meh, OK, OK, yuck, yuck, nope, yum.
I guess I like cereal.
Joe: I like cereal too. Just not the ones I listed. ;-)
Ha- this is hilarious. Do you know they have fruity cheerios now. Maybe they wouldn't be so aversive to you. They are like mini Froot Loops.
As far as lamb goes, would it totally gross you out to tell you that I used to eat RAW lamb? Yep, it's a middle-eastern dish called Kibbe Nayyeh and my great aunt would make it - soooo good. Haven't had it in 25 yrs now though since it's so delicate to make, restaurants don't want the risk.
Oh and cooked lamb - I love it!!
remember moments (I am really trying to remember not to call you by your first name here! so far, not very successful though.): I have seen the fruity Cheerios but haven't tasted them. I wonder about them but I know that the Apple Cinnamon ones weren't enough to overcome the stigma. It doesn't gross me out if you like lamb--cooked or otherwise. *I* just don't want any. ;-)
ROFLMAO! Had to laugh at the last one :-)
funny enough I agree with all your choices, and refuse to eat them myself with three exceptions
I love honey nut cheerios and bananas, actually had it for dinner last night.
And bologna will do in a pinch, but I am not as found of it now, as i was when i was a kid.
Hahaha the only one I would add to this list is beetroot. I've never understood beetroot and it's never understood me. We just do our best to stay out of each other's way. If we see each other at parties or the odd dinner we're civil but that's as far as it goes :o)
I'd have to add Cube steaks to my list.. *shudder* my mom even tried covering those shoe leathers with cheese and keptchup to get me to eat em... rather try liver... blech.
Bananas? Really?
HA! Cheerios aversion! I love it!
Also bologna...iew...and well you know my views on bananas
Re:#9. is that what a lamb is? i always wondered the difference between a lamb and a sheep.
Janet: What can I say? Some things just make a lasting impression. ;-)
RileyScott: I used to love bananas but one day I peeled one & the smell alone turned my stomach over. Never ate another one.
Keri: I am trying to remember if my Gram ever made cube steak...
LFM: When I learned of our shared view on bananas, I knew our friendship was meant to be!!
Samantha: Yep. Baby sheep. I don't think I could ever be a vegetarian but I draw the line at eating babies. =P
