i spent my Saturday finally unpacking the rest of the office & getting it organized



this picture on the wall was a housewarming goft from my very sweet & talented friend Andie who framed me some of her amazing photography =)


this big empty space where the chair is will hopefully one day house an armoire


this is going to be my scrapping table


and where this cair is will possibly one day be a big comfy cozy chair for curling up with a good book or magazine. the computer desk will need to shift over a little but there's plenty of room to work with. right now just trying to balance out some of the empty space.

home sweet home

what i adoring about my new house so far:

**my new stove with it's flat-top & an oven with a light!
**my stainless steel kitchen sink with the detachable faucet that turns into a sprayer
**my brand new BIGGER refrigerator that has no-spill shelves & a light in the freezer!
**my over-the-stove microwave that is NOT made by Magic Chef (Heather can appreciate my disdain for my old microwave i think! LOL)
**my slider to the screen porch that has 3 panes instead of 2 & can open in either direction
**my new shower with it's wonderful new shower head. ahhhhh heaven....
**TWO walk-in closets in the master bedroom!!
**the pocket door for the master bathroom. this thing takes up no space!
**a laundry room with a door!
**and the hand-me-down Maytag Neptune washer & dryer that are SO quiet

it's a start

have a few photos of what's actually done in the house so far (aka the rooms that don't still look like a distaster area--ha!). not too shabby considering it's only been 4 days. still need to get some curtains & the walls are bare but at least things are starting to come together...

home stretch

it's crazy how fast they get built down here...

this past week the following was completed:
*the baseboards & trimwork, central air vents & other various minor details
*hardware for the doors installed
*driveway & front walk poured
*exterior stonework
*tile floors installed--foyer, kitchen, laundry room & both bathrooms
*carpet installed--office, family room hallway & all 3 bedrooms (wasn't supposed to be completed until Monday 1/16)
*kitchen cabinets installed (wasn't supposed to be done until some time this coming week)
*yard cleared of building debris in prep for upcoming landscaping

i fully expect that everybody has their fingers crossed for me here!!! just a few favorite photos from this last trip down there (and for some reason i apparently forgot to get one of the whole kitchen showing off the newly tiled floor. must have been the complete & total shock of seeing the carpet installed 2 days earlier than the builder said it would be. will have to remember to get one the next time i'm there.)
