The Commander welcomes the Rays to 2009.
he has a 10K parting gift for them. and the only thing golden about it was his performance. i wasn't thrilled about Mother Nature's plan to make me wait an extra day so she could rain all over Fenway but that game was worth waiting for!

there may still be 161 games left to play, with one win being a drop in the bucket, but i'll take a drop to having our bucket being dry any time! something about starting the season with a home opener like that just feels like we're kicking it off right!
you know what else doesn't hurt? solo shots for Pedroia (was it high & inside? anyone know? i was still trapped at work when it happened.) and Tek. one good game does not an improved season make for the Cap'n but i'll take getting off on the right foot & hoping it's a sign of things to come!

at the end of the game, we saw Not-So-Big-Game James and, if you're ::cough cough:: lucky like me, you learned (much to my dismay) that it really is possible to miss Joe Magraine because *wow* is his replacement painful. i didn't think it could get worse than the old Rays tv team but i stand (very unfortunately) corrected. i think i'm actually looking forward to the West Coast trip because it means i won't be listening to those two sportsholes anymore.
Spring is here, Sox are on & i couldn't be happier.
3 with their own thoughts:
Dawn, the ball Pedie hit was down and in and he just golfed it over the Monster. And the new color guy is old Sox/Ranger manager Kevin Kennedy. Read today that FOX is really cutting back on the pre-game stuff on the Saturday games this year.

Really love your place!
Ted: Is that who that is?? Well then it doesn't surprise me that he's so annoying--and thus a perfect fit in Tampa--since I find the FOX baseball people really obnoxious. I was almost going to wish that FOX had found a way to cut Joe Buck as well but my luck *he* would have ended up paired with Dewayne Staats & then I would really get pushed over the edge.
