the sky is not falling. yet.
to say that i am suddenly grateful not to be watching the Sox would be an accurate statement. i am not so much enjoying the mini-skid my boys are on, and it's plenty painful enough to wake up to the final score in the morning, without having to suffer through watching the losses actually unfold. that being said, i feel no right to whine or complain about the current three-game losing streak they are suffering. or the fact that they are playing at a .500 level in their last ten games. this was bound to happen at some point. even so they still (for the moment anyway) have the best record in baseball, as well as a comfortable, if no longer a double-digit division lead. and there are fans there right now who would gladly trade season records with Boston, even with their most recent hiccup, i am certain of it.
i will admit though... this latest turn of events has me a little... shall we say, wary. i *am* a Sox fan after all. that's a lesson i learned a long time ago. the season is long & the Sox can fall from the sky at any time. a win tonight would be good for Wakey, as well as my frame of mind, not to mention at least eliminate the possibility of a sweep, and hopefully turn things back in the direction we were heading in May.
a win from all colors of Sox tonight would be *perfect*.
4 with their own thoughts:
It was inevitable. There was no way they could keep up that pace. But you're still 37-20 with a 9 game lead. Try being 27-32 on a five game skid after having a 5 game winning streak to get back to .500.
that is *exactly* why i said i wasn't going to complain about the recent losing streak. it's the only one they've had all season. i know it was impossible to maintain that pace. i know there are fans that have much more valid reasons for lamenting their teams. it's not been a fun ten days, but it ceratinly could be far worse.
I saw the names DiNardo and Embree go by on the SportsCenter crawl this morning....whaaaaat?!
Nothing like a little hello from Lenny to make you feel like a chump. He probably did that little finger-wiggle wave with a coy smile, like girls do on sit-coms when they pretend to like to boy. Freaking Lenny DiNardo. Where did our team from May go??
