Decembers past...

i remember being a child & waking up to a brand new Advent Calendar. seeing these in the Germany pavilion at Epcot brought back memories of my father making sure that when i opened my eyes on December first, there was an Advent calendar waiting on my nightstand... it awakened that first flutter of excitement & anticipation that Christmas was getting closer.

i miss that flutter... and i won't be waking up to an Advent calendar in the morning...

These were a big part of the holidays during my childhood as well. Great memory, thank you. :)

I love Advent calendars, too. We had this one that was made out of felt and there was a Christmas tree on it. At the bottom was the numbers one through twenty five and little plastic ornaments were stuck on with velcro. Each morning as we got ready for school, we would take turns moving the ornament from the day to the tree. Since you can put three into 25 eight times with one left over, we *all* got to put on the last ornament. :-)

I'm sorry you don't have one this year. You can share ours when you get here! (It's not fully up and running yet... ;-) )
