take a bad day & make it better
i'm not much of a Beatles fan but if the shoe fits...
anyway.
after the sour feeling the Patriots left me with, i *needed* the Sox to come out and kick around some Rays. you can imagine then, how i felt when the Sox found themselves down 8-1 in the fourth inning.
i'm not going to lie to you.
i shut the game off.
i couldn't take anymore tonight.
i couldn't take a shellacking by the Rays.
and it kills me to see Wake have a bad performance.
around ten, i turned on the tv with the intention of watching something, *anything* but sports.
i almost fell out of my chair.
before i could change the channel, i saw that by some twist of fate, and several small miracles, the game was now tied at nine in the sixth inning, and i turned it on just as Youk's bat was connecting to knock out a loaded-bases-clearing triple to give the Sox a 12-9 lead.
(holy cow. i turned off the tv at 8:30 in the top of the fourth, and an hour & a half later we were only in the bottom of the sixth?!)
i'm not going to say i feel any better about this Patriots mess, but a 16-10 comeback win, from a Sox team not known for its come-from-behind victories in 2007, certainly doesn't hurt.
Lestah tomorrow. let the Sox keep rolling merrily along.
5 with their own thoughts:
Like you I'm pretty sick over the Pats. They're a good enough team they don't need to resort to that kind of thing. Glad for you your other boys brightened your day.
Jeanne: There are so many conflicting reports by the news sources, and the denials being made by the league releasing any decision at all yet, that I'm so turned around, I don't know *what* to feel now.
Last night was some beautiful Red Sox baseball.
I think I'm in love with Jacoby.
LOL Jenny! Last night I said to another Sox fan friend of mine: "I love this kid!!" We have a great rookie crop. Jacoby, Pedroia, Buchholz. Sweet little happies, they are.
Come on, everyone likes at least ONE Beatles song....
