kielbasa, sauerkraut and pierogies, oh my! delish!

Interesting dinner you got there. I know what sourkraut is of course, but not the other two. I think pierogies is a russian food right?
Isn't kielbasa really spicy?

Janet: And I have leftovers for lunch! Yum.

RileyScott: They are all Polish foods! Kielbasa is a Polich sausage and it's not spicy in a "hot" sense but more in a flavorful way; bratwurst can be either mild or hot though. Pierogies are basically a Polish ravioli: a pasta "pocket" stuffed with a whole variety of different things (not all at the same time though). The ones I have are filled with mashed potato and cheedar cheese. I top them with a little sour cream. Soooo good!

Kielbasa and pierogies... oh, my. I'm not Polish, but that's comfort food where I come from. Good stuff!

And here's hoping that things go as well in Boston for you as they did in Houston yesterday. (^_^)

I love love love Pierogis, preferably the potato, cheese versions - topped with sour cream of course. Yum!!

Were yours fresh or frozen? I can only find frozen here, but they are pretty darn good.

Jane Ellen: I'm going to hope you're a Cubs fan with that last statement. ;-)

remember moments: I have only seen them frozen here as well. My Gram used to make them fresh. I remember her & Gramp working side by side in the kitchen making them. I've never attempted it myself though... Potato & cheese are my favorite too. And the dollop of sour cream is a *must*!

From birth, literally. I was almost born at home because my mother was watching a televised game, and refused to leave for the hospital until it was over. They've been part of life ever since.

Dawn, there's dismay, definitely. :-( But I wonder if the Sox had played yesterday, would someone at our respective workplaces have ruined the game for us? With a meeting or an emergency or loud talking? Maybe the postponement is a good thing...

Jane Ellen: Good luck to your team this season! I'm a lifelong Sox fan and so I can sympathize with what that's like!

Daniel: That would have applied more to you than to me, this time. I can't watch at work vs the Rays since the game is blacked out on MLBtv. I was recording to watch when I got home.
