Wednesday Mind Hump: April 12, 2006

Hi everyone! Another hump day is upon us. Today is Big Wind Day, so grab a coat and play along.

1. "And the answer, my friends, is blowin' in the wind. The answer is blowin' in the wind." So says Bob Dylan. What IS the answer? only the wind knows

2. Ever seen/been near a tornado? Was it cool or scary? Both? Get out of it ok? yes but i didn't know it at the time. about...ummmmm...8 years ago (?) i was up in Syracuse NY with Michael visting friends. there was a really bad storm outside & we lost power. with nothing else to do we kind of wandered around house looking out the windows at the trees blowing & the rain & the lightning. finally we all just went to bed. when we woke up in the morning & ventured out for breakfast, we saw a street a block over cluttered with downed power lines, twisted trees, snapped utility poles & various other debris. turns out it was a tornado!! i wasn't scared because i didn't know but if i'd known, i'm sure i would have been terrified.

3. Pick a random country. If there's a message you could whisper in the wind to someone in that country, what would you say? Italy: thank you so much for all the yummy food -- what can i say?? it's almost my lunchtime & food is on my brain ;-)

4. What's your favorite thing and least favorite thing about wind? i love the way it feels on a warm day when a breeze comes along & refreshes you. but i do *not* like the wind when it comes with a hurricane & howls around my house for endless hours...

1. When eating pancakes or waffles, do you put your syrup on top of the pancakes/waffles or on the side and why? i don't really like pancakes but i do like waffles--especially Blegian waffles. i usually put a little bit of butter & then my syrup or fruit of choice right on top, one section at a time. not too much though because i don't like them soggy. as i finish a section, i top the next one.

2. Do you cut your sandwiches on the diagonal, straight up the middle or not at all? depends on the sandwich. if it's just on regular sliced bread or on a round roll, i don't usually cut it at all. except for grilled cheese--that gets cut diagonally. if it's a sub-type sandwich & bigger than 6" then i cut it in half.

3. Do you tuck your top bedsheet in with hospital corners or do you like it on the looser side? i tuck it in, not perfect hospital corners but still neat. here's the thing though: i don't like to be tucked in too tight but i also don't like the sheets pulled out so that they come loose under the comforter. i like to get into a tightly made bed & then wriggle around until the sheets are the perfect tension (i know! i know! LOL) and i will even get up & re-tuck the sheets if i loosen them too much.

1. Do you like chicken? mmmmmmm...yummy. i like it all sorts of ways. grilled. roasted. chicken strips. boneless buffalo wings. chicken sandwich. tenderloin strips in a stirfry...

2. What is 1 food you can't live without? ONE?? ummmm...pasta.

3. Are you an early bird or a night owl? both. i like the peaceful calm of being the only one awake when every thing else is sleeping. i am NOT a middle of the afternoon girl.

4. Chocolate or vanilla? depends on what we're talking about.

5. Are you more of a cat person or a dog person? i like cats just fine but i *love* my puppy.
