and therein lies my beef with Lugo
"According to baseball philosophy, the best players always play in the middle of the field, from the catcher out to center field. It is as if an axis were drawn directly down the middle of the diamond. That line pierces the pitcher's mound and second base, the center of the infield, which is shared by two players: the shortstop and the second baseman. The latter of those two players is generally considered less important, which leaves the shortstop as the most important infield position outside of the catcher and, of course, the pitcher."
(Tony Massorotti, "Dynasty")
(a shadowy image, somewhat resembling the author of this blog, is seen slipping silently out of sight, with the suggestion of concealed baseball bat bearing only the inscription "E6" held close to its body... and not a bat intended for stepping into anything resembling a batter's box...)
3 with their own thoughts:
You ready for some Beckett tonight?!
I faintly remember a Lugo who used to play for the Sox, until some hired hitman took out his leg, or something like that. I wonder who would go to the trouble of putting a hit out on this Lugo guy?? (one of the few good hits Lugo got in the last two years)
Ted: I would *really* like to see some pissed off Beckett. This current version just seems bored & passionless to me. And then seeing him *smiling* Tuesday night?? I am so confused... Shouldn't he be screaming & pumping his fists & kicking unsuspecting gear in the dugout?!
Scott: I want Lugo amnesia...
