We may support different teams & be sporting an almost century-long rivalry, but when it comes to the game of baseball, we have a mutual understanding & respect for the game. You know where all these Rays "fans" came from? Just ask the Tampa Bay Lightning. I bet they'll recognize those faces. =P

RileyScott: Taunting & tormenting fans of other baseball teams is part of the fun. As long as you truly support a team and appreciate the game, that's all that matters. I will respect any true fan of the game. Even if I question their choice in teams. ;-)

Anna: You can still be a Cardinals fan in Tampa! I moved to Florida from New England seven years ago & I didn't pick a new team. You can keep up with your team by watching online with an MLBtv subscription or on tv by ordering Extra Innings! If you're going to go "loacl" though, please support the Marlins. ;-) You'll get most of their games for "free" on regular cable in the Tampa area.

Lucylastica: Indeed they are!

Lulu: We've got plenty of room for real fans of baseball on the Red Sox bandwagon! ;-)

Fidgeting Gidget: I may be decidely girly but I *love* me some baseball & football!

Karen: Thank heaven for that! Seriously, have you ever seen anything so foolish as the RayHawk?? We've got plenty of room for you too in Red Sox Nation. ;-) Or you can support the Marlins if you want to keep it somewhat local!

remember moments: You know how in my "point a" I say "just because you can't wrap your mind around it doesn't make *it* stupid"? Let's just say I was implying something else *was*. ;-)

Jane Ellen: After doing daycare for five years, my whine threshold is low as well. There is something to be said for being a classy sports fan and that is something that seems to carry over into "real life" too.~**Dawn**~https://www.blogger.com/profile/06179560051128719637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9792137.post-46474764581986109122009-04-09T16:22:00.000-04:002009-04-09T16:22:00.000-04:00Amen, and amen! And while I'm not particularly riveted by the television coverage, I love playing the game and going to the stadium. Yankees is actually the easier way I know to talk to my Dad, and I follow the sport so we have something to talk about. Plus I get a kick out of pissing off the Mets and Sox (no offense) fans at work.

I can totally relate to what your going through though. I play a "Collectible Card Game" called Magic: The Gathering Online. In fact i have a separate blog for the subject all it's own. It's my sport, and I follow it much like other people follow baseball or football. And it really pisses me off when it comes out that I like this thing, and then people are like "I don't get it, it sounds stupid"

I so totally know how you feelRileyScotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02944320276824503953noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9792137.post-48264255391712798882009-04-09T11:34:00.000-04:002009-04-09T11:34:00.000-04:00Hahah...I couldn't help but laugh at how true the ...Hahah...I couldn't help but laugh at how true the things you said are.The Rays have been the red-headed step child of the AL East for much of their existence. Now,people who couldn't even tell you their starting lineup wanna act like they give a crap about "their team" or even the sport of baseball.I may be a Yankees fan,but I think this is one thing we can agree on.Appreciate it before you rip it.xschmittyxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11297584721991876722noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9792137.post-33542337179878563432009-04-09T11:27:00.000-04:002009-04-09T11:27:00.000-04:00I personally am not big in to sports but I have to...I personally am not big in to sports but I have to agree with you on what you said.
